We firstly would like to thank you for taking the time to get to know us, and considering us as your child’s adoptive parents. Our names are Oliver and Shelby. We have been together for almost 10 years, and married for 3 and a half. Our relationship has blossomed throughout this last decade, and we are so excited to share our love with a baby through adoption. Because of some illnesses Shelby had to face earlier on in her life, we knew adoption would be a part of our journey in order to grow our family. My name is Oliver. I’m 33 and live in Connecticut with my wife, Shelby, and our dogs, Myla and Charlie. I was born in New York to a Colombian father and American mother. I have an older brother, Alex, and younger sister, Cassie. We are very close and visit each other frequently. We’re an athletic family and I spent much of my time playing soccer. I played competitively in college and eventually graduated with a degree in Psychology. I pursued medicine and am now practicing as a physician assistant in a large hospital in Connecticut. The things I enjoy most are watching my favorite sports teams, hiking with my dogs, snowboarding, traveling the world, and spending time at home with Shelby.

I’m Shelby. I’m 31 years old and I was born and raised on Long Island, NY with my older brother and parents. We are a very close knit family, visiting each other often, and going on family vacations together. I was raised in a Jewish/Hispanic household. My mother was born in Argentina to parents who immigrated from Poland, and my father is Puerto Rican. I am an avid reader of multiple genres, and I most love to spend my time surrounded by my family, close friends, and 2 dogs. I work in healthcare as a PA in a pediatric ICU, taking care of some of the sickest babies and children in Connecticut.

MEET OUR DOGS
We have two dogs, Myla and Charlie. They are both Cavapoos (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and miniature Poodle) and are half-siblings! Myla is older than Charlie by one year but half his size. She may be small, but she is sassy, smart, sweet, and loves to cuddle. Charlie is a goofball. He is very playful, loves adventure, and always wants to be near family. They are both very love-able, and haven’t met anyone they did not like! They love to be around people, and are always up for a good nap on the couch.
OUR HOME & COMMUNITY
We live in Trumbull, Connecticut. It is a very family-oriented, suburban town with many different parks filled with large jungle gyms, biking and hiking trails, and town events. Trumbull schools are highly rated which is a big reason why we decided to raise a family here. The schools also have very competitive sports teams, and the town invests a lot in our facilities and equipment so that our kids can be safe and successful. Crime rates in Trumbull are low and it is considered a safe place for residents. We live on a quiet street and our home sits on an acre with a large fenced-in yard. We have great relations with our neighbors and we all look out for each other.
