We are so grateful to have this opportunity!

We have always wanted to build a family together and share our lives with a child. While our path to parenthood has not been easy, it has strengthened our commitment to becoming loving, supportive parents. Early on, we made a promise to each other that we would grow our family and share our lives with a child. We are ready to provide a loving stable home where our child can grow, learn, and be themselves, and to give them all the love we have to offer every day.

FAV HOLIDAY

Halloween

I’d probably be described as a nerd, but I prefer ‘geek.’ I love all kinds of games—video games, board games, and Dungeons & Dragons—as well as baseball and football (Go Cowboys!). I’m outgoing, funny, and enjoy talking with neighbors and even strangers, always trying to bring a little energy wherever I go. I love carpentry and am usually working on a project or home renovation, and I have a deep love for Halloween—our house is definitely ‘that house,’ with decorations I often build myself. At home, I show my love by cooking dinner and helping take care of daily life. I’ve been told I’m very good-natured, and I try to live up to that. I’m excited to share my interests with my child.

FAV HOLIDAY

Christmas

When you first meet me, I can be quiet and a little reserved, but once you get to know me, I open up and care deeply about the people in my life. I put my whole heart into the things I love, especially building strong, supportive communities. I teach dance and love creating a space where others feel safe, encouraged, and free to be themselves—many of my dance girls even call me their second mom. At home, I enjoy keeping things organized, decorating for every holiday, and creating a warm, welcoming space. I dream of turning our yard into a place that feels like a relaxing getaway, and I love African drumming, boating, and dancing around the house just for fun.

OUR PETS

MEET OUR PETS

We have two loving pets that we treat as furry family members. Our cat Lily is the eldest at 13 years she can be a grouch but once she gets to know you can be a good cuddle buddy. Our dog Nora is 7 years old and we often call her baby girl but she has many responsibilities. She is a licensed therapy dog in both a school district and nursing home. She also is a well-trained hunting dog and is probably spoiled too much. Both bring a lot of love, personality, and comfort to our home.

OUR HOME & COMMUNITY

We live in Fairport, NY, a town that feels like something out of a Gilmore Girls setting. It sits along the historic Erie Canal and has a rich history. Fairport was recently rated one of the best places to live in the country and is known as Trail Town USA for its many hiking trails. In the summer, there are frequent local festivals, often every other weekend, which bring the community together. Our home is in a quiet, single-family neighborhood where it’s common to wave to neighbors and see children playing outside. Just a short walk from our house is a small wooded park that would be a wonderful place for a child to explore, play, and grow up enjoying nature.

THANK YOU

FOR CONSIDERING US

We can promise that your baby will grow up in an adventurous, nurturing, and safe home, surrounded by love and support. They will be part of a large, welcoming extended family that includes four aunts and uncles, two sets of grandparents, and 13 cousins—three of whom are also adopted. Beyond that, we are also surrounded by many close friends who are like family to us, including additional “aunts, uncles, and a grandma” who will be an important part of their life. Our family is culturally diverse, including Dominican, Jamaican, Trinidadian, Puerto Rican, African American, Spanish, Chinese, and Mexican backgrounds. We value this deeply and are committed to helping a child learn about and appreciate cultures beyond our own. We love to travel and hope to share that with a child, including visits to places like China and Spain to stay connected with former exchange students who lived with us. We also often travel across the country to visit family in the Midwest and hopefully soon, Texas. Your child will grow up spending time outdoors—boating on the water, learning to swim, water ski, and tube—and in a neighborhood full of young families and friendship opportunities. We will encourage them to explore their interests through sports, the arts, and extracurricular activities. We are both creative and will share our love of making art, as well as our passion for Halloween. Most importantly, if you are open to it, we would love to maintain a connection and ensure your child always knows their story and their roots. We would be honored to welcome you into our extended family in whatever way feels right for you. Thank you for considering us. Joe and Marcia
