I love kids and have always wanted to be a mom. For a while, I felt pressured to get married so I could have a baby, but then I realized that New York is full of fantastic single mothers. Adoption resonates with me because it breaks the mold of the traditional family in a way that is responsive to the unique needs of the child and adults involved. I believe we were put on this earth to take care of each other. Adoption is an excellent reminder that our lives are all interconnected.

I am a nurse and artist living in New York City. For over ten years, I have worked for a homecare nursing agency and now supervise and train other nurse practitioners. My career provides me with the ability to work from home, a flexible schedule and financial security. I love nursing because I get to help people every day, and it affords me the time and money to make art and start a family. I have studied glassblowing in Brooklyn, and painting and sculpture in Midtown Manhattan. After Covid-19 lockdown, I joined a dance team and started making costumes and dancing in parades. I love finding new ways to be creative and spread joy and I can’t wait share all of this with a child.

MY HOME & COMMUNITY

New York City is an ideal place to raise kids. My home is located between two major city parks, a short walk from friends and family, a French bakery, an independent bookstore, artist designed playgrounds with animal sculptures, and a sledding hill. We can go to the places I loved as a kid, like the planetarium at the Natural History Museum and the Central Park Zoo. We will spend summer weekends at our family’s beach house in Long Island with my brother’s kids, 10-year-old Sammy who loves to read, 7-year-old Henry who loves all sports and foosball, and 5-year-old Amelia who wears sparkly dresses and roars like a tiger. They are really sweet kids and will be great older cousins.

Thank you for reading my profile. I can’t fully imagine what you are feeling as you make your adoption plan. While I always wanted to be a parent, I wasn’t ready for a long time and I would have felt afraid in your position. It takes courage to engage in this process. If you select me, I promise I will love and prioritize this child for the rest of my life. We can keep in touch at whatever level feels right for you. You will always be an important part of our family.

I intend to raise this child in a healthy and creative environment. We will build sandcastles, plant seeds, read books, and have adventures. Most importantly, this child will be free to discover the world and will be loved and accepted for exactly who they are.

Life doesn’t always go as planned, but I believe things can work out in beautiful ways we could never have imagined. I am tearing up a little as I write this, knowing that these words are my first chance to introduce myself to someone who may become an integral part of my future. My wish for you is that you feel healthy, physically and emotionally through this time. Pregnancy can be really hard.
