Thomas and Tom

Hi there! We are Thomas & Tom (aka “T-squared”)! We would like to thank you for taking the time to get to know us more!

We’ve always wanted to adopt, but wanted to make sure we could provide your child with a stable home, and we were in a position to be parents who have the time to devote to caring for a child. We are now ready! Tom has decided to leave his career to be a stay-at-home parent, which he is delighted to do because he can’t wait to be a dad! On the other hand, Thomas will continue working full time in a career that he finds very fulfilling and will provide financial stability to our growing family. We are more than happy to have an open adoption and send you letters, photos and updates of your child.

TOM & THOMAS, AKA “T-SQUARED!” TOGETHER SINCE 2010.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW US MORE!

Dear

Birth Parent,

We’ve always wanted to adopt, but wanted to make sure we could provide your child with a stable home, and we were in a position to be parents who have the time to devote to caring for a child. WE ARE NOW READY! Tom has decided to leave his career to be a stay-at-home parent, which he is delighted to do because he can’t wait to be a dad! On the other hand, Thomas will continue working full time in a career that he finds very fulfilling and will provide financial stability to our growing family. We are more than happy to have an open adoption and send you letters, photos and updates of your child.

about us

Driving to our wedding!

We have settled in Thomas’ hometown of San Antonio, Texas. We love living in Texas and are very much looking forward to welcoming a child into our home!

With Thomas’ Hispanic and Native American background, along with Tom’s Irish heritage, OUR HOME IS NEVER SHORT OF GOOD FOOD, LOVE , AND THE FREEDOM TO BE YOURSELF.

HOBBIES

TOM SPENDS HIS FREE TIME WORKING OUT, CLEANING THE HOUSE AND TALKING TO FAMILY. He likes to do small home renovations to make the place look better (for example, painting walls!). In addition, he loves to go to estate sales looking for small treasures that people want to throw away. He built a gym in his garage to be able to workout at home. He also likes going for walks and spending time with Thomas.

THOMAS LOVES TO SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS, ESPECIALLY IF IT INVOLVES ROAD TRIPS. He loves his work and can often be found volunteering somewhere in the community.

ABOUT

THOMAS

- BY THOMAS -

MPA Grad!

Having grown up in poverty, I have made it my life’s mission to bolster economic pathways and opportunities, especially for communities having been historically disenfranchised. I am also fully committed to long-term financial stability in our home as well.

We have a great house that we own outright with good health insurance and I have a very stable, dependable job. Tom and I are alike on that stability point but on other things we are fairly different – in a good way. Tom likes routine; I like spontaneity. Tom will make sure bath time happens every night; I will make sure we make room for random adventures and fun road trips. WE BALANCE EACH OTHER WELL.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE,

LOVE WHAT YOU DO

I LOVE THE WORK I DO IN THE FIELD OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. I help to change economic systems to be more inclusive and impactful for historically underserved communities. This may seem superficial to many, but it is truly my calling. I am also happy for Tom to be a stay-at-home dad, or “CEO of the House” as I call it, because he is a true nurturer and is fulfilled by caring for the people he loves.

I’M SO EXCITED TO BECOME A FATHER!

I already have the bedroom picked out for your child and I wonder what it will look like in a few years with all of their toys and teddies. I wonder will they like the frog mural in the bathroom that the previous owners painted for their children that was just too cute we had to keep it, but most of all I hope they will like bedtime stories because I would love to read to them as they fall asleep. We have a primary school attached to our community via a gate and I picture myself walking through the gate taking them to school after a bowl of cheerios. I see the high school bus depart from the bottom of our driveway and I know that I will not let my gaze avert until they are safely on the bus and on their way to school. I WILL BE VERY AMBITIOUS TO MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS HAPPY AND CARED FOR AND LOVED BEYOND MEASURE.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE,

LOVE WHAT YOU DO

I have worked as an accountant and risk professional in various industries. I don’t regret my chosen career path; however, I don’t find my career fulfilling. This is why I INTEND TO BECOME A STAY-AT-HOME DAD. I may return to work when the time is right, but work will need to revolve around my priority of looking after your child.

OUR

HOME &

COMMUNITY

WE LIVE IN A SMALL GATED COMMUNITY IN A LARGE CITY IN TEXAS. We love that our home has a lovely secluded garden out the back and a loft area full of board games. We love that our community is attached to a elementary school with a small gate just for the residents in our community. We also love that your child will have a grandmother nearby who is eagerly waiting to meet them.

MEET OUR

FAMILY

TOM’S FAMILY IS NOT IN TEXAS, BUT YOUR CHILD WILL SPEND MANY TRIPS VISITING THEM! Specifically, we will regularly visit Tom’s sister and her children in Boston and Tom’s parents and siblings in Ireland. Tom also has a friend in Chicago with a newborn with whom we will also see often.

THOMAS’ SIDE OF THE FAMILY LIVES THROUGHOUT TEXAS. In his mother we will find a warm and loving grandmother. In his uncle we will find advice on how to raise small children. In his brother we will find a fun uncle, and in his nieces and nephews we will find plenty of cousins with whom to play games in our loft.

PROMISES

- TO YOU -

& YOUR CHILD

Babysitting our nephew!

WE BOTH COMMIT TO DOING OUR ABSOLUTE BEST IN RAISING YOUR CHILD.

Our promise to your child is to try to spark their interests and nurture their curiosity, with the hope that they are able to pursue what makes them happy.

Tom’s commitment is to be at home when they come home from school and have dinner at the table every night. He also promises to read them a bedtime story every night until they tell him they’re too old for bedtime stories and have a toy train going around the Christmas tree when they come downstairs on Christmas morning.

Thomas commits to playing board games and video games with your child and helping them with their math homework. He also commits to proving a shoulder to cry on and being there in good times and bad.

FINAL

THOUGHTS

We welcome the opportunity to send updates with an email or a letter with a photo of your child. If you want to meet them as they grow older we would welcome that too! While your child may have more than one dad, you will be their only mother. Nobody is going to take that away from you. If you want to send a letter or birthday card to your child over the years that is also welcomed.

WE CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU AND LEARN ABOUT YOUR DREAMS FOR YOUR CHILD!

WE WOULD LOVE TO

HEAR FROM YOU!
