Neel and Annie

Hello & Welcome! We are Annie and Neel. Thank you for considering us as parents for your baby. We so admire you for your brave decision and wish you a peaceful journey during this time.

We have been together for 12 years and married for six years. After a few years of unsuccessful fertility treatments, we realized that adoption is our path to grow our family. We share a strong love for our close-knit families and supportive friends. And now, we are excited and ready to extend that same love and joy to a newborn.

THANK YOU! for considering us as parents for your baby.

We are eager and committed to providing our baby happiness, lots of love, joy, security, warmth and an opportunity to thrive within a positive and loving environment. We would be pleased to have open communication with you to the degree that you are comfortable so that your child can have a sense of stability in knowing his or her background.

Thanks so much for taking the time to getting to know us better.

about us

We enjoy a lot of the same interests and can’t wait to see what interests your child will bring to our family.

OUR WEDDING DAY
OUR WEDDING DAY

These days, we typically start our mornings with a good work out. On weekends, we try to take advantage of interesting events happening in the city, whether it’s a live show, festival or a free art exhibition. On Sundays, we are a part of a bocce league and relish ending our weekend with our circle of friends. There are also times when we are home bodies and enjoy fixing up our home, potting new plants and herbs, trying out new recipes, and binging on new movies or tv shows. We believe in continuous learning and growing as we go through life. We plan to extend that to our baby, see things from his or eyes, and as a family continue to grow together

we met

We are both passionate about tennis and met through a website called Tennisopolis; we can definitely say this is “love.” On our first date, we discovered we shared some similarities. In addition to playing tennis, we both studied abroad in college and spent probably too much time watching college basketball. We also discovered that we are both the younger sibling in a set of twins. What a coincidence!

WEARING A SARI TO NEEL’S COUSIN’S WEDDING
WEARING A SARI TO NEEL’S COUSIN’S WEDDING

I was born in Hong Kong, and my family moved to Washington, D.C. when I was two years old. I grew up in the DC area in the suburbs. I have a twin sister and three older sisters. And, we are a loving and tight knit family.

I love to play tennis, hike, read books, visit museums, catch the latest movies and exercise regularly at the gym.

I’m so looking forward to becoming a parent. As the reliable go-to babysitter for my nieces and nephew, I have incredible patience, empathy and understanding for others. I also love observing the innocence of children and admire their continuous bewilderment. I believe in guiding and inspiring a child, and I look forward to nurturing and caring for our baby.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE,

LOVE WHAT YOU DO

I have been with my company for over 16 years. My boss is a brilliant presenter, and our company offers professional training services to help professionals improve their soft skills. I manage all aspects of the operation from handling all client requests to ensuring completion of all projects. There are times my boss feels like my second mom. That’s how close we are! I know now how to work more efficiently so that I’m able to focus on other important things such as spending valuable time with Neel, my friends and family. It helps, too, that I can work remotely.

When it’s time, Neel will be the breadwinner, and I plan to either work part-time or stay at home full time to take care of our baby.

I was born in New York. I have an older sister and I’m the younger sibling to my twin brother. My parents are Indian and emigrated to the United States in 1970.

I consider myself active and do my best in living a fulfilling life. I’m part of a soccer league and play bocce on a team with our circle of friends. To increase my fitness level, I regularly hike, play tennis, and train with weights. In terms of creativity, I appreciate art and music. For the past seven years, I have been taking private guitar lessons. After learning the fundamentals of music and music theory, I’m now able to compose my own music. Learning is endless and that’s where Annie comes into the picture. We share this love to grow and learn together!

DO WHAT YOU LOVE,

I’ve been working for my company as a trader for over 10 years. I’m a broker for semiconductors dealing with global markets. There are times I am up in the middle of the night working with my overseas clients and vendors. As hard as I work, I do take the time to enjoy my hobbies, sports or simply meeting up with friends and family.

Work/life balance is very important to me. Like Annie, I have the luxury to work remotely, so I will be there to help in any way

HOME

We live in New York, and absolutely love our neighborhood! It’s urban but feels quaint and charming at the same time with tree-lined streets and beautiful homes. Most of our friends and some family members live within a five-mile radius. Our neighborhood is filled with families, young professionals and long-time New Yorkers. It’s a great mix of cultures and diversity.

There are numerous parks, playgrounds, and good schools in the area that cater to the growing number of families moving into the neighborhood. We are enthusiastic about bringing up our child in this community that embraces diversity, openness and creativity.

Tribe

The people we treasure

We both come from loving families and try to uphold traditions even though our physical distance keeps some of us apart.

Annie’s parents live in Maryland, and her four sisters live in Maryland, New York and Connecticut-all East Coast folks. We call our family the United Nations. Why? Because all of our significant others are culturally diverse ranging from Chinese, Scottish, English, Cuban, and Indian. Neel’s parents live in Minnesota close to his twin brother, who has a family of four young kids. His sister lives close by.

Family is truly important to us, and we put aside time to constantly catch up with one another. In addition to holidays, our families get together annually for reunions and trips. Our motto is the bigger the better! It’s never boring when we all congregate. It just gets very loud and chaotic!

PARENTING

As a couple, to be really good parents, we first need to be on the same page in our approach and to allow some flexibility along the way to determine what’s best for our child. We believe that encouragement and becoming a positive role model are very important in developing our child’s self-esteem. We want our child to know we are a solid safe haven for him or her. We would raise our child using a firm but kind approach. And, of course, our main goal in parenting is to show our love by making time for our child, by listening to him or her and fully supporting their endeavors.
