from New York
Welcome to our profile, where we hope you gain a sense of our family’s FUN, ADVENTUROUS, and QUIRKY NATURE!
DEAR BIRTH PARENTS,
We live in a hidden gem of a town in Upstate New York, located near gorgeous lakes, rolling hills, and culturally rich cities. You can usually find us out hiking, apple picking, backyard camping, fishing, hunting Pokémon, and generally just exploring our community.
We are appreciative that families can be formed and blended in many ways, so we are choosing adoption to realize our dream of becoming a family of five. Our hope is that you will join our family circle through an open or semi-open adoption. As your child grows, we look forward to sharing milestones and accomplishments, as well as all the little things that make your child unique.
We hope that your child can join our movie nights, scavenger hunts, spontaneous dance parties, video game adventures, and our pursuit to find the best kid-approved French Toast and Mac & Cheese dishes in the area.
- OUR -
We met in the summer of 2005 as 21-year-old college kids at a small dorm party. After we went back and forth comparing just how small our hometowns were (Mike won, btw), a strong connection between us was undeniable. We spent the next few years dating long distance before moving in together in 2008. After years of working, traveling and fixing up our first house, we were married in 2010 and built our forever home in 2012.
Starting a family was neither an immediate nor linear path for us after getting married. We endured infertility issues and heart-breaking losses before eventually welcoming our son in 2013 and our daughter in 2017. With Kristine’s pregnancies being high risk and painfully debilitating, subsequent pregnancies were not recommended, but there was still a deep motivating force to have a third child. With time, this deep feeling grew stronger, and we are now pursuing adoption.
- MORE -
WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR OVER 18 YEARS, DURING WHICH TIME WE HAVE GROWN UP TOGETHER AND FORTIFIED A STRONG AND RESILIENT MARRIAGE AND FAMILY HOME.
Our household is filled with little kid belly laughs, funny (sometimes gross) kid and dad jokes, honest and openminded conversations, and is a safe and inclusive space to grow.

WE MET DURING COLLEGE SUMMER BREAK, AND I WAS STRUCK BY HER GENUINE, CARING, AND DOWN-TOEARTH PERSONALITY.
Over the days and weeks that followed, I attempted to impress her with dates to nerdy movies, fancy dinners, and an infamous bowling match that ended in my crushing defeat (she still regularly reminds me that I only scored an 84). Fortunately, she took some pity on me, and we spent the rest of the summer establishing an unbreakable bond that we carry with us to this day. The unique traits that first attracted me to Kristine continue to shine through, as she devotes herself day-in and dayout to the happiness and wellbeing of our family. I am overjoyed every time I see the excitement she shares with Clara as they pick out fabric for quilts, or when she makes Adam laugh hysterically by intentionally mis-stating Pokémon facts (she knows how to push his buttons!).
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
KRISTINE HAS A BA IN ECONOMICS AND A MS IN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY. She worked for ten years as an occupational therapist before transitioning to a stay-at-home mom. She is home for all school events, sick days, and summer breaks.

I KNOW I’M BIASED, BUT MIKE IS THE MOST STEADY AND TRUE-HEARTED PERSON IN MY LIFE.
We met as 21-yearold kids, and I knew right away that he was different… he exuded, and still does, a calming and humble energy about him, and then you catch how brilliant he is. His methodical yet empathetic approach to life still impresses me, especially how it has translated to him being such a compassionate dad. I admire his patience he has with our son with special needs; Mike can relate to Adam in ways where I struggle. And with Clara, Mike is the first guest at her stuffie birthday parties, and she loves their backyard tent camping trips. Mike has this uncanny ability to chat all things Pokémon with Adam while also helping Clara with her very glittery craft projects. After nearly twenty years together, Mike is still my best friend and I’m so excited to raise a third little one together.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Mike has a BS in Computer & Systems Engineering and currently works as a SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER for a small startup company that offers flexible work schedules, work from home arrangements, and paid time off that allows him to put his family’s priorities first.
WE LIVE IN THE BEAUTIFUL APPLE COUNTRY OF UPSTATE NEW YORK. Our home location is quite unique, with nearly 4 wooded acres, but also in a family-oriented neighborhood. We have a large fenced-in back yard with a swing set and a fire pit for roasting hot dogs and s’mores. Inside our home, we renovated a bonus room to be a dedicated playroom with a rock-climbing wall and swing; it’s the kids favorite spot for hanging out with neighborhood friends!
Our beautiful hillside school campus is walkable from our house, as well as our downtown that boasts some great local eateries, library, book shop and eccentric gift shops. There are local nature preserves where we walk our dog, go hiking, and fishing.

ADAM & CLARA
ADAM AND CLARA ARE QUIRKY, JOYFUL, AND KIND LITTLE KIDS! They are so excited to be big siblings to another little one. Adam is a walking encyclopedia for dinosaur, shark, and especially Pokémon facts. When this kid has an interest in a topic, it becomes his whole world. He’s excited to share his curious and intellectual spirit with another little sibling. Clara totally embodies her middle name, Joy, as she is always smiling, laughing, and making friends everywhere she goes. She wants to be an artist when she grows up and her favorite thing to do at home is paint. Most nights we eat on the side of the dining table that isn’t covered with craft supplies. Both kids are involved in the community with Cub Scouts, Lego clubs, Pokemon game nights, softball, and soccer.

Kristine’s free time is usually spent sewing, especially clothes, bags and quilts for the kids. She spends a lot of time constructing forts with the kids or snuggling up to read under the quilts she’s made for them. You can expect a quilt for your little one too! Kristine also enjoys practicing her photography skills, with the kids being her favorite subjects to capture
Mike’s childhood hobbies of collecting non-sports trading cards, reading comics, gaming, and building models has sparked similar interests in our kids. Together, he and the kids have developed an impressive Pokémon card collection, built a fleet of model rockets, and repeatedly defeated Calamity Ganon to save Princess Zelda and return peace to Hyrule!
WE’RE PROUD TO BE PART OF A BIG FAMILY THAT IS SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE NORTHEAST.
Our kids love gathering with their aunts, uncles, and cousins at Grandma and Grandpa’s house for holidays, special events, and random visits. They also cherish the occasional week they get to spend there without us, where they’ll visit the rockclimbing gym, shop at the local toy store, take boat rides on the lake, and enjoy Grandma’s chocolate chip cookies.
WE HAVE ALSO DEVELOPED A FAMILY-LIKE CONNECTION WITHIN OUR IMMEDIATE COMMUNITY. Through school ties, bus stop friends, and close neighbors, we have built a network of reliable and caring friends always eager to help. We need to mention our close involvement with our son’s local Cub Scout pack and the teachers in our district; both have shown a commitment akin to family that has proven to be invaluable.
It has become a tradition for our family to spend a summer week in the Adirondack mountains at a lake house. It is where our son, whom has anxiety and Autism, finds tranquility in our busy lives. Being away from the daily social norms and expectations, screens, and schoolwork, and
immersing ourselves in nature has proven to be incredibly healing for our family.
WE ARE SO EXCITED TO INTRODUCE ANOTHER LITTLE ONE TO THIS AND OTHER SPECIAL FAMILY TRADITIONS WE HAVE.
- ONE LAST -
Over the last ten years, we have gained a unique perspective and wisdom that can only come from parenting two young children. We hope that this small glimpse into our family life has given you the reassurance that your child will be welcomed with unconditional love. Your child will learn and grow alongside Adam and Clara, with whom they will create core memories that only siblings can share. We can’t promise that there won’t be sibling fights (actually, there will be many), but we will do our best to foster sibling relationships where
both similarities and differences are embraced. What we can promise are movie nights, pillow forts, road trips, inside family jokes, hikes and camping trips, holiday traditions…all the little things that when added up, make childhood magical. We look forward to sharing all of this with you through photos, videos, crayon drawings, and glittery craft projects.
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR
