- WE ARE -
STEPHANIE, MATT &
future big sister
from New York
DEAR EXPECTANT PARENTS,
Although we can’t begin to understand the decision you are facing, we admire your courage and the love you have for your baby. We are here to support and surround you with our love and prayers. Your decision to bless our family with another child through adoption would be welcomed with excitement, admiration and gratitude.
Our 2-year-old daughter Sophie joined our family through adoption. It was a dream come true to finally become parents. We continue to connect with Sophie’s birth mother and family, and it has been a pleasure and honor to continue a relationship with them.
We hope this profile gives a glimpse into our lives and who we are. We are ecstatic to grow our family and have so much love to give to another child.
We have known each other since we were teenagers.
After many years of friendship, we began dating and went off to college. After graduating, we married in 2007, purchased a home and looked forward to expanding our family. After many failed fertility attempts, it was a natural decision to pursue adoption to build the family that we have always dreamed of. Adoption has always been a very important part of our lives and dear to our hearts as Matt and his brother were adopted as infants.
In 2019, Sophie joined our family through adoption. She has been the light of our lives and brought us more joy than we ever imagined. She is our sunshine on cloudy days, and has taught us to not take things too seriously. It has been so much fun to watch her grow and learn about the world around her. Our relationship with Sophie’s birth family has been very special to us. In addition, Matt has recently connected with his birth mother and is learning about her and his extended family.

We are an extremely close family. Being together, whether at home or around our community, and spending time with those we love is our favorite thing to do. We enjoy spending time grilling in our backyard with the dogs, taking walks around our neighborhood, or hosting our family and friends for dinner. It is also important to us to build traditions as a family like playing games, building forts and making Sunday pancakes, while also honoring Sophie’s family’s traditions and background. We can’t wait to add another child to our family to join in these activities and build memories with.
I always knew that Stephanie would be a great mom with her compassionate, caring and patient nature. Since Sophie has entered our lives, Stephanie spends every moment she can with her. Her favorite part of the day is snuggling Sophie when she first wakes up. Stephanie loves reading, playing, and coloring with Sophie, and I know she looks forward to teaching Sophie and watching her continue to grow and become a big sister.
Those attributes are also on display in her classroom, where Stephanie’s outgoing personality helps her connect with her students and creates a warm, welcoming environment to learn in. In her spare time, she can be found working in the garden, reading, or redecorating our house. Stephanie and I have always dreamed of having a larger family, and I know Stephanie can’t wait to welcome a second child into our lives.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Stephanie is a dedicated elementary education teacher in the school she attended as a child. Each year, she cultivates a caring classroom community built on expectations of respect, honesty, hard work and cooperation. Her schedule affords her time off during the school year for vacations, and summers off to make memories with Sophie and her future little brother or sister.
Matt is an intelligent, kind, patient and loyal husband and father. He is dedicated to his family. He goes out of his way to make sure Sophie and I are taken care of, and this extends to our family and friends. He works on projects around the house, and fixes anything from broken appliances, to engines, or kissing boo boos.
Matt is a hands-on dad and team player. He has participated in nighttime feedings, bath times and diaper duty from the first day of Sophie’s life. Matt loves to play with Sophie, and can’t wait until she is old enough to play catch. He has always dreamed of coaching his children’s sports teams. Each night Matt tucks Sophie into bed. It is his favorite time of day. I have loved watching their relationship grow and develop, and I know he can’t wait to bond with another child.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Matt is employed as a mechanical engineer at a university research group that focuses on sustainable systems. His work includes testing components, data analysis and publishing research. This allows Matt to work on a wide range of complex problems that is both challenging and rewarding.

Darla and Willow are our four-legged friends. They are faithful, loving and adore Sophie. They can usually be found running with Sophie in the summer months. They love joining us for walks and getting pets from anyone that crosses our path.
We live in a spacious home in a quiet suburb with great schools. We have a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run and play. We are a short walk from a playground and our town library. Our neighborhood is diverse and many families have young children.
Our home has been a labor of love. We have completely renovated it over the past fourteen years. We have loved working on projects together and making it our own.

FUTURE BIG SISTER
Sophie, age 2, is an active and energetic little girl. She has an easy-going personality. She finds fun wherever she goes, and makes friends with her big smile. Whenever we see a baby, Sophie is so excited. She waves at them and blows kisses. We know Sophie would love to grow up playing with a sister or a brother.

We have wonderful parents who live close by and visit regularly. Sophie loves being close to her grandparents. We celebrate holidays together with both families, as one big family. It is such a blessing.
We both are the youngest of two children. Matt’s brother and family live nearby. Stephanie’s brother and family live in California. Though distance has been a challenge, technology has kept us close. We have visited one of our cousins at college and visit the entire family on the West Coast as often as we can.
When the time comes, we can’t wait to travel with Sophie and her little sister or brother. We look forward to making memories at the beach that Matt’s family vacationed at as a child and traveling to visit our Uncle, Aunt and cousins.
When we are not with our families, we like to spend quality time with our friends and their children. We are so lucky to have amazing friendships, many of which are from as far back as elementary school. It has been fun to watch our kids become friends from a young age like their parents did.

Choosing Stephanie and Matt to adopt Sophie was not a hard choice. From their bio we could tell that they were in a happy marriage and were very family oriented, which was something that was important to us.
After a few emails with Stephanie and Matt, we felt comfortable and knew we made the right decision. We were excited to share Sophie’s heartbeat, sonogram, and a video of her gender reveal. It was a smooth process and the regular communication made it even easier.
My daughter went into labor and immediately Stephanie and Matt were on a plane. After Sophie was born my family visited them at the hospital and met baby Sophie. They took pictures with her and everyone was at ease knowing she was going to a good home. The family has been wonderful and regularly sends pictures to us. I love the way that Stephanie and Matt look at Sophie and I know she is truly loved. She is in a safe, happy and loving home. We did not know what to expect during this process and it has been an incredible journey. Stephanie and Matt are amazing, we could not have asked for better parents.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to get to know our family and learning about our dream of expanding our family again through adoption.
Your child will know how cherished they are and will be loved unconditionally. They will grow up knowing how you are an important part of their story and how special you are to our family. We would be happy to send pictures and letters as your child grows, if you wish.
Sending you our love and best wishes for your journey ahead
Stephanie, Matt & Sophie
WE WOULD LOVE TO
HEAR FROM YOU!
