Josh and Betsy
Hi there!
- WE ARE -
JOSH, BETSY,
& HANNAH
Great State of TEXAS
Dear Birth Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to look through this book and get to know a little about us. We know you have a difficult decision ahead of you and we want you to know that, although we have never met you, we know you are a very brave person who is full of love for your baby.
From the beginning, we had always planned on having multiple children. In January of 2021, we were delighted to welcome our daughter, Hannah. While Hannah was born a perfect, healthy baby, a tough pregnancy followed by medical complications after birth has led us to decide that adoption is the safest option for everyone in our family.
If chosen to be the parents of your child, we promise to love, support, and encourage them every day. They will always know about you and your love for them. We will be thinking and praying for you and your baby as you make this decision.
- OUR -
Story
When we first met, we had an instant connection, and were able to talk for hours without losing interest. We went on our first date for pizza and a hockey game, and it felt like we’d known each other forever. After only a few months of dating, Josh was given a great career opportunity across the country. Betsy thought that meant the relationship would be over, but Josh insisted it was worth it to him to continue with a long-distance relationship. Betsy agreed, and thankfully, she did! After about 9 months of dating long-distance, we got engaged right before Thanksgiving 2018.
We have now been married for four years and have one beautiful daughter together. While we both now have great careers, we value our time as a family above all else. We prioritize eating dinner together every night, spending weekends going on adventures with Hannah, and emphasizing the importance of family and friends in our lives.
These shared values, and our common sense of humor, have continued to make our relationship and family grow stronger. Our top goal is that we can pass on these priorities to our children, and they can grow to be the best people they can be.
- ABOUT -
BETSY
by Josh
Betsy is a very selfless, funny, loving woman. I was first attracted to her quick wit, and her ability to match my deadpan sarcasm without missing a beat. Once I really got to know her, I found that she is an extremely caring person, who always puts others ahead of herself. I love her openness to try new things that I suggest, even if it’s outside of her comfort zone. However, I also love how she’ll put her foot down about things she feels strongly about.
I love seeing Betsy raise our daughter, Hannah. She is caring and patient, which undoubtedly is partly due to her background in child development. Betsy loves to spend time reading books, working on puzzles, or perfecting her baking skills. Betsy is a fantastic partner and a great mother, and I couldn’t imagine life with anyone else.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Betsy works as a Behavioral Analyst, supporting children with Autism. Her background in child development, has given her excellent skills for raising kids our own. Her job is completely remote, which gives her the freedom to walk Hannah to school and be flexible if anything comes up. The nature of her job also allows her to set her own schedule, which gives us the freedom to take family trips more easily.
- ABOUT -
JOSH
by Betsy
Josh is smart, funny, driven and I am so lucky to call him my husband! He is the hardest worker I know, and it has even rubbed off on me. He always encourages and helps me to be the best version of myself that I can be. Josh is calm, relaxed, and always very sure of himself and his choices.
Josh is an engineer with a passion for learning and understanding how things work. He can build almost anything you ask him to, loves a physical challenge, has run multiple marathons, hiked Mt. Whitney, and loves to cook up new things in the kitchen.
He is silly and active, always playing and laughing with Hannah. Josh has a demanding job, but has made being a husband and dad his top priority. Josh is my partner in all aspects of our lives and I cannot imagine a better father and friend.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Josh is an engineering manager and has spent the last six years designing and building factories around the world, including in China, Europe, and the United States. The job can be demanding, but he has prioritized beings home every night to eat dinner as a family and put our daughter to bed. The work culture within his team is very family-friendly and provides unlimited time off for family trips or caring for sick kids.
OUR
HOME &
COMMUNITY
We live in an awesome Texas community that has become like our family. We live in a quiet neighborhood on the edge of an urban city near lots of families with children. The kids and parents on our street have become some of our best friends. We can often be found sitting out in someone’s driveway with all the children running around the yard. Our home is walking distance to our preschool, elementary school, parks, playgrounds, bike paths, and trails.

SISTER
Hannah
Hannah is our bright, talkative, independent, and energetic two and a half year old. She loves to read, play outside, swing, walk our dogs, and go swimming. When she is not at school, you can find her “cooking” in her kitchen, dancing, and taking care of her babies.
- OUR -

Travel has always been important to us. We love to travel and experience new places, and have already started sharing this with Hannah. (She does great on planes, and loves the snacks and opening and closing the window shades!). Some of our closest friends live in different parts of the country, so the majority of our travels now involve visiting close friends and their families. As our children get older, we look forward to presenting the world to them through travel and experience!

our
EXTENDED FAMILY
Betsy has a big family with lots of kids, including five nieces and nephews, three of which are adopted. Most of Betsy’s family lives in the same city, including her extended family, so when we travel we can see them all. Nearly every day we FaceTime with them or talk to them on the phone to stay in touch. Betsy’s parents and siblings regularly come to visit, especially for big events like Hannah’s birthdays. We typically travel to spend a week or more with them for Christmas, and often for a beach trip once a year as well. Even though we don’t live near them, we don’t go more than a couple months without a visit.
Josh has a smaller family, with just one brother, but we are just as close to them. Josh’s brother lives in a nearby city, so we can see him regularly. His parents still live in Josh’s hometown, which is very close to Betsy’s family.
While our families are different, they have both always been very loving and supporting. T hey have been an excellent example for how we should raise our family.
