Daniel and Emily

Hello! We are Daniel, Emily and Jacqueline from Texas. Thank you for considering us & taking the time to read our profile to get an idea of what life would be like with our family and as potential parents to your child.

We understand this is an incredibly difficult decision you are undertaking, and we honor your commitment to your child’s wellbeing.

Above all else, we want you to know that your child will know of your strength and bravery, and that your decision was made because of your love for them. We look forward to getting to know you throughout this journey. While we struggled with infertility, adoption has allowed us the wonderful blessing of being able to expand our family.

- ABOUT -

US

We have been married for 16 years and have been a couple for over 20 years! The first time we met we talked about our favorite baseball teams and were both instantly hooked! Our official start to being a couple started on Valentine’s Day when Daniel baked Emily a cake but ran out of time to make dinner. Emily suggested pizza for dinner, and now 20 years later we still celebrate Valentine’s Day with pizza!

Two years ago we were blessed to have been chosen by a wonderful birth mother to be Jacqueline’s parents. We have kept in touch through pictures and letters to provide updates on how Jacqueline is doing. Being parents has brought us so much joy and we can’t wait to welcome your child to our family to share in the love and laughter that fills our home.

VALUE

Birthday fun

Birthdays are important to our families because we want everyone (from grandmas to cousins) to know they are loved and special. Since we both have large families, we can count on sending and receiving lots of birthday serenades, phone calls, and texts on everyone’s special day.

We are proud Texans and love our Latino culture. We are both fluent in Spanish and plan to raise our child in a bilingual household.

Due to our love of learning, we each have a doctoral degree and understand the importance of a strong WE CAN’T education foundation.

ABOUT

EMILY

BY DANIEL

I’M SO EXCITED TO INTRODUCE HER TO YOU!

IF YOU EVER WANT TO SEE EMILY SMILE, LET HER HEAR THE LAUGHTER OF A CHILD! She is wonderful with children and they seem to flock to her. Emily loves to play pretend with our daughter, read with her, and have living room dance parties (especially to Selena). She is a wonderful person with a heart of gold who has so much love to give.

Emily is a great mother because of her willingness to open her heart and share her love of life with friends and family. I love how she can be focused on a work task one second, answer a random question the next, and then have a tea party with Jacqueline all without missing a beat. Emily has a great sense of humor, loves to read, and loves to plan family trips! She is a great leader and role model for our daughter because of her compassion and dedication to making our community a better place to live.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE,

LOVE WHAT YOU DO

For over 15 years, I have been blessed to work with folks at the international, national, and local levels. I work for a nonprofit that focuses on helping students get into and graduate from college. It is a very family friendly employer that provides generous benefits which allow me to mainly work from home and have plenty of family time.

ABOUT

DANIEL

BY EMILY

HE LOVES BEING A DAD!

DANIEL IS A KIND, CARING, AND LOVING FATHER, BROTHER, UNCLE, NINO (GODFATHER), FRIEND, AND HUSBAND. The love he has for his family is evident in the smile on his face whenever we all spend time together. Our 9-year-old Nephew/ Godson has officially named him “The funniest Nino in the world!”

Jacqueline definitely has him wrapped around her little finger! It is so cute watching them spend time together. He loves playing on the swings with her, taking her to swim class, coloring, playing catch, and being silly. He is super handy around the house and when he sees that something needs to get fixed (whether at our house or my parent’s) he takes care of it. I am blessed to have such an amazing person to share my life.

DO WHAT YOU LOVE,

LOVE WHAT YOU DO

As an assistant principal at an elementary school, I enjoy hearing the laughter and seeing the joy of learning. Being able to show our students what is possible is such a fulfilling experience. I also pride myself in being at the ready whenever they ask for a silly joke!

Home

and

COMMUNITY

WE LIVE IN A LARGE CITY IN TEXAS THAT HAS FAMILY FRIENDLY SPOTS LIKE PLAYGROUNDS, MUSEUMS, AND WATER PARKS! Our neighborhood has a small town feel because our neighbors are so friendly and we have neighborhood parties. Our house has lots of room to play, along with a large front yard, great backyard, and close to family. The year-round warm weather and blue skies provide a great time to walk the park trails, take a drive to the beach, or spend time barbecuing at home.

BIG SISTER

JACQUELINE

Jacqueline is a joyful, energetic, thoughtful, and silly two year old. Her hugs and besitos (kisses) are the best! She loves to play with her stuffed animals, go to gymnastics and swim classes, and the moment she hears music she starts dancing. She enjoys playing with her cousins and friends and loves waving to everybody at the grocery store. We know she will make an awesome big sister!

HOBBIES

& INTERESTS

Daniel loves to spend his free time baking, building, or bbqing! Baking cakes has become something that Daniel is known for among our friends and family. He also loves to build and has made furniture for every room in our house.

Emily loves to dance and has done so since she was four years old. While studying in Spain during college, she started taking flamenco lessons and has continued her training with a local dance academy. Emily loves to travel and has been to 17 countries and 28 states.

As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors, love tasting new foods, and cheering on our favorite sports teams. We have had lots of fun continuing our traveling adventures and Jacqueline already got her first passport stamps this year!

OUR FAMILY

Cousin hangout
Family fun in Disney World

WE BOTH COME FROM LARGE EXTENDED FAMILIES WITH LOTS OF AUNTS, UNCLES, AND KIDDOS. This means we get together regularly for family celebrations, play lotería, or just because. We love to host Thanksgiving in our home.

Daniel is the youngest of eleven children! He has five brothers and five sisters, and most of them live in our same city, along with tons of cousins. Emily has one brother and over 50 first cousins, plus numerous second and third cousins! Emily’s parents (Wita and Wito), grandma (Abu) live in the same town as her brother, sister-in-law, and their 9-year-old son. Our nephew and Jacqueline have a beautiful relationship and love each other so much. We love cheering him on at his baseball games and Jacqueline is one of the loudest cheerleaders!

A big reason why we want a larger family is because we have seen the joy and happiness from being so close with our families. They fully embraced and loved on Jacqueline from day one and are excited to continue to do so. It always seems like a party when we gather because there is so much laughter, music, and fun.

THOUGHTS

ON

PARENTING

From the beginning we have planned for Jacqueline to know she is adopted. It is part of her story, as it will be for your child. They will also know that they are loved by so many people.

We have been blessed with a wonderful home and stable jobs that allow us to provide for our family in a safe, secure, encouraging, and loving environment. We are in a great place where we can financially provide for our children, spend quality time together, and share many experiences. We understand the importance of supporting a child’s social and emotional well-being, especially one who has been adopted.

As Jacqueline has grown and developed, we have fun playing outside, reading lots of books, exposing her to the arts, doing LOTS of imagination play, and learning about the world. We are passing along our values of love and respect and it makes our hearts smile seeing how she is so kind to others.

Our goal is for our children to see a wonderful world of possibilities through structure, stability, and consistency, and for them to know that we will be there to support them every step of the way.

OUR

FINAL THOUGHTS

Thank you for your consideration and taking the time to get to know us a bit. While we are excited about adopting, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you throughout this process. Thank you for showing so much love and care for your child by taking this step and making this difficult decision. We will make sure they know how much you love them and how brave and courageous you have been.

We look forward to keeping you updated
by sharing pictures and updates throughout
their life as they grow. We want you to know
that our child will be raised in a home filled
with love, laughter, happiness, and wonderful
experiences.
