Andrew and Wendie
- WE ARE -
WENDIE , ANDY,
We are excited to continue our adoption journey with you.
We are excited to add another child to our family through adoption. We are ready to share our love with your baby.
Wendie is kind, caring, and loves being a mom. With a willingness and capacity to serve those in need. Your child will never doubt Wendie’s motherly connection and appreciation for their unique nature and special gifts.
Andy is the best! Your child will be more than lucky to have him as their dad. He is funny, smart, loves God, and is serious when he needs to be. He is a good provider, well-educated and he has a tremendous capacity to love.
We will give the child a loving and stable home full of fun, laughter, learning, and a brother. Your child will know that they were adopted with love. We know that adoption can mean different things for everyone. We will work together to define what that means.
- HoW -
We met at a mall, where we both worked after college, and dated right away. After dating for two months we spent the next three and a half years communicating through letters while living abroad. We could hardly wait to be back together!
Andy proposed not long after returning home. We married a few months later and have been for 15 amazing years. Two years ago, we adopted our son Joseph. We have lived in two states, owned two homes, visited more than 25 states and traveled to more than ten different countries.
- More -
We enjoy spending time as a family and with our extended family and friends. One of our favorite things is to pile on the bed as a family and read books together. We are excited to add a baby to our family time. We can’t wait!
I LOVE BEING A MOM. Watching our son learn, grow, and discover is truly a delight. There is nothing quite like listening to your son sing “London Bridge is Falling Down” (for 25 minutes straight) the joy in his voice is next-level. I also enjoy hosting dinner parties. It can be something as simple as inviting one friend over for their favorite dinner or hosting 13 people around an Easter table. Andy calls me his food fairy because I make delicious food appear, seemingly out of nowhere.
I also serve in a leadership position in our Christian church where I work with the women’s organization. Together we learn about Christ, plan service opportunities, and counsel together to help each other through good times and hard.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
I WORK FROM HOME AS A TECHNICAL WRITER which means I get to write, a lot, and I love it. I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree and am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to learn. Education is very important to Andy and me.
I love to learn and am a computer nerd at heart. When I was young, my dad and I spent a lot of time together reading, playing videos games, building computers, and working on science projects. I enjoyed learning with him and I love sharing and exploring in the same way with our son. I am excited to do the same with our second child.
I serve in a leadership position in our Christian church congregation, counseling adults and leading youth programs. I really love the youth. They are bright, inquisitive, and a little bit mischievous, which fits my personality well. I am the favorite uncle in our large extended families. When all the adults do their boring things together, I am the one playing with the kids, going outside, or sitting with them when they need some personal attention.
MOST OF ALL, I LOVE BEING A DAD.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
I have a master’s degree and work as a technical consultant, specializing in Education, which means I spend a lot of time teaching and coaching others about curriculum and technology in schools. I have a real passion for helping others see, build, and create on their own. I really believe in the power of education to transform lives and our world. I work from home and have a flexible schedule.
We live on a beautiful, tree-lined, urban street in New York. We love it. We recently purchased a sunny apartment in a very diverse neighborhood. We are surrounded by great schools.
Our local park is a block away and full of friendly neighbors with children of all backgrounds, speaking a variety of languages. The park has a beautiful view, a swimming pool, and a fun play area with a water feature for warm summer days. Many museums, parks, libraries, beaches, and other delights are nearby (including our pick of dumplings, tacos, and sweet treats).
- MEET -
We adopted Joseph as an infant two years ago.
He is our greatest joy. The kid is so stinking smart, cute, funny, thoughtful, and fun. The other day he used his thumb to take off his sock and when he was done, he looked at his thumb said “good job thumb.”
HE WILL BE THE BEST BIG BROTHER ANY CHILD COULD ASK FOR. WE ARE SURE OF IT.

WENDIE comes from a family of six kids that has since expanded to include spouses and 14 nieces and nephews. ANDY has one younger sister who lives in Australia with her husband and two kids. We have many friends who we also consider as family. We love them all.
Joseph LOVES his cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles (and they all adore him). He asks about them frequently and is always delighted when they visit or we go to them for a visit.
Wendie has a history of adoption in her family. With adopted nieces, nephews, cousins, and a cousin placed her child with an adoptive family. They come from all different races and backgrounds but we make one big family.
We love to play games and spend time with our family. We have traveled throughout Europe and the US with them. We also enjoy just gathering together to swim, go to plays, and explore museums.
Growing up, Wendie’s mom took her and her siblings to museums and other cultural activities. She is so grateful! Andy’s family had a goal to visit all 50 states and they almost made it, he just needs to visit Alaska to finish the list.
- WE LOVE TO -
We love to travel and have been to some wonderful places. A few of our favorite vacations include:
• VISITING FAMILY
• PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. We went there on our honeymoon.
• LONDON, ENGLAND. We both have sisters who have lived there and we visit often.
• POMPEII, ITALY. We took our niece a few years ago and fell in love.
• Driving the PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY from Los Angeles to San Francisco.
• AUSTRALIA. In one day we saw kangaroos, koalas, and watched penguins march out of the ocean to their nests on the beach.
• FRANCE. We love Paris and the beautiful countryside with its old castles and forts to explore.
YOU WILL FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS.
You are amazing and we appreciate your brave decision. Thank you for considering us. We know that each open adoption situation is unique and we want you to know we are open to sharing texts, letters, photos, and annual visits. We have an open adoption with Joseph’s birth family- we share pictures and have even visited. If you choose us, we are committed to creating an open adoption that works for all of us if you would be comfortable with it.
We recognize and appreciate your sacrifice; we are forever grateful.
We love one another, work hard, and value quality time and education. We love our family and take advantage of every opportunity to spend time with them. We serve in our community and in our church, and we love to travel. We promise to love and teach your child, and give them every opportunity to succeed.
WE WOULD LOVE TO
HEAR FROM YOU!
