Andrew and Jennifer
- WE ARE -
from RHODE ISLAND.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn about us.
We have three furry pets – Stephen, the cat, rules the house and our two dogs, Lulu and Charlie, love to play together and go for hikes. Rounding out our little family we have a turtle and two chickens. We live in a cozy house only a few houses down from the bay. It is amazing to walk out to our front yard and see the water and smell the salty ocean air. We love to be active and are constantly riding bikes, hiking, kayaking, running or working out. We also love to travel whenever possible. We are excited to start a new chapter of our lives and have a child. Unfortunately we have been unsuccessful at having a child but have always harbored dreams of adopting a child. We would love an open adoption so you could be a part of our child’s lives as they grow and develop. Thank you for considering us as potential parents to your child. If you choose us, your child will be a loved and cherished addition to our little family.

AN ONLINE DATING SUCCESS
We met 11 years ago on match.com. Jen chose Andy since he was one of the few guys taller than she was! Turns out he had some other nice qualities, too. At the time we were both living in Indiana and were excited to find in each other a shared love of the outdoors, travel, appreciation for food, and love of humor. Together we both love animals and have had multiple rescued pets bring joy and variety to our lives.
- OUR LIFE -
We moved to Rhode Island five years ago and love it. We enjoy living in a suburban area and knowing our neighbors. We are 15 minutes away from downtown, and from forests for hiking and outdoor recreation. We frequently walk the dogs to town and get ice cream. Rhode Island has surprised us with how much we like it because it has so many things to do within such a small state. We enjoy going for family hikes with the dogs, trips to the beach, and playing outside, activities that would only be made more complete with a kiddo!

Jen is a kind, compassionate, and warm person, if shy and humble, traits that serve her well in life. She appreciates others more than herself, and I’m sure she will appreciate no one more than a child. She is an excellent parent to our many pets, and sets the rules that I never can. I have a hard time resisting their cuteness! She takes care of our yard, which makes the house lovely for all of us as a family, and is always enthusiastic about planning activities for us to do together. She is excited about helping a child learn and grow, getting one involved in activities and hobbies. Jen also takes care of our potted plants, which keep the house beautiful all year.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Jen is a part-time associate at a backpacking shop. Her job allows flexibility and she is frequently home. She can take care of the house and pets if Andy is working a weekend or overnight shift. Her flexibility also allows her to be at home full or part-time with a child.

My favorite thing about Andy is his constant “we can do this” attitude. He is a very positive person and does not put out negative vibes. His positivity is in all aspects of his life. When I struggle with the process of not being able to have a child he simply says “everyone has their own journey, and this is ours.” His positivity is only less endearing on rare occasions like when hiking, and everyone else is sick from altitude, and he is happily singing aloud. His positivity helps me believe that we will find a child to love and care for. Andy is great with kids as his goof ball side comes out. Having grown up in a big family he is used to having kids around and is great at talking with them on their level.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE,
LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Andy is an Emergency Doctor, a job he enjoys and is lucky to do. He cares for many sick adults and children alike, and works anywhere from two to four shifts a week, which allows ample time at home. He is busy, but does his best to prioritize family.
Over the years, we have put a lot of effort into making our house a home. Jen enjoys renovating, and she tiled, painted, and partially gutted and rebuilt our kitchen, sunroom, and bathroom. We maintain an overgrown but happy garden with flowers, fruit trees, and berry bushes including peaches, apples, raspberries, pumpkins, and many more. This year, children in the neighborhood came to pick peaches and apples from the trees. We live within walking distance of an excellent grade school, and within two miles of one of the areas better high schools.

Bringing pets into our lives has helped us grow as a couple and helped us learn to co-parent. We take the dogs everywhere that we can. They are a constant source of entertainment in our house and we feel lucky to take care of them.
We are a very active couple and hope to incorporate a child into our activities. We run, hike, and walk the dogs often. All of which a child would enjoy. Andy plays music (both drums and guitar) with friends often and we have a music area set up in our basement. Jen loves spending time being creative. She draws and paints and loves to be out working in the garden or reading a good book. These are all interests we hope to share with a child.

Family & Friends
Jen’s sister moved to Rhode Island shortly after we did to be close. We hang out often and travel together! Jen’s parents are in Virginia; we talk often and will meet up in fun places like Mexico and Florida for holidays.
Andy has a large family (over 50 aunts, uncles, cousins, all of whom know each other and are close) mostly in Chicago who love to get together and celebrate milestones. Recently, the entire family gathered to celebrate Andy’s grandfather’s 95th birthday! He is married still, to his 94 year-old wife, and they’ve been together for 73 years. Andy will probably live to a ripe old age.
Andy’s brother and step-sister have been huge role models for us when it comes to parenting. They are both, with their spouses, dedicated to the well-being and raising of their remarkable and intelligent children. Andy’s brother-in-law is adopted, and Jen has cousins who adopted their child. With families on both sides accepting of adoption, and with already existing closeness of a large family, we know we will have their full support in adopting!

We want to raise your child with love and affection to help them grow. We will provide a loving and supportive home for your child. We are financially stable, have good health coverage, and own our own house. The house has a lovely backyard with a brand new fenced yard for play. In the house your child will have their own bedroom and play area. We also have a park with a playground at the end of our street. We live in a safe neighborhood that is walking distance from the elementary school (which has another playground!). Our area, and Rhode Island as a whole, has a lot of sense of community. There are regular events and parades celebrating the history of the area. We hope to raise your child to be an active child that is thoughtful and kind and would love to keep you updated on their progress throughout their life.
As adoptive parents we do not want to replace you as the birth parent. We recognize that you have a very difficult decision to make in regards to the life of your child and we want to ease your mind as much as possible. We would love to have an open adoption and keep you in the loop about your child’s development. Above all, we will raise your child with love. Thank you for your consideration.
