Luis Alberto is the smartest and sweetest man I have ever met. No matter the topic—history, movies, foreign language, college football—Luis Alberto knows a scholarly amount of information about it. I challenge any child to ask “why?” to Luis Alberto; he may be the only person on Earth who can out-answer even the most inquisitive child. He loves to learn, and this love is infectious. He has taught me how to be an adult student of the world. I am confident he will teach our child the same life-long desire. Luis Alberto is infinitely patient; he decodes the most challenging and difficult qualities of someone and unleashes an incredible understanding and patience for that person’s/family member’s quirky quality. If this worldly openness cannot be taught by him, it can’t be taught by anybody.

New Year’s Eve
Michelle is a tender soul, with a sharp sense of humor and a song on her lips always. Michelle loves to experiment in the kitchen, and a long list of people—me included—can attest that her baking and cooking are amazing. She has a lovely singing voice. Michelle has a welcoming heart, open to all and eager to make a difference in the world for the better. I feel at my best when I am with her. My favorite things about her? Her lovely gaze, her infectious laughter, her tenderness and affection, her joy for life, her optimism, her cooking, her thoughtfulness, and insight. Michelle is, as they say, “wicked smart” and has an even greater heart. I could not think of anyone else I would want more to be a mother to a child.

OUR PETS

MEET OUR DOG, MERI

We have a senior dog named Meri. She’s 13.5 years old and the fuzziest dog in town. She is soft-tempered and well-behaved. She is patient and careful with visiting small dogs and young children. She is a protective, supportive, and loving member of our home.

OUR HOME & COMMUNITY

We live in a diverse, suburban neighborhood of Texas. Summers are hot and winters are mild, which allows us to grow vegetables year-round. Luis Alberto’s parents live an hour away and we see them often. We are walking distance to our church, elementary school, community pool, and park/playground, and only a couple miles from the YMCA, where we are members. Ours is a home where friends and family come every week to eat, talk, laugh, or even cry when needed.

Someone who knows how to mend clothes, create art, and play music. Someone who knows where food comes from and who God is.

We plan to nurture our child’s identity as an adopted person, channeling it as a source of pride and inspiration. We are flexible and ready to adjust to your preferred openness for this adoption, sharing letters, photos, and updates with you at a frequency you are comfortable with.
