We are Stephanie and Matt from New York.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us, our family, and our desire to be adoptive parents. We are ecstatic to welcome a child into our home and family.

We have so much love and admiration for you. We cannot fathom what a difficult decision this has been for you and how overwhelmed you must have felt. Your bravery and courage inspire us. You have been and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. We pray for your strength as you navigate through this process. We know you will do what is best for your baby, and we hope that you will find that we can be all that you hoped, prayed and dreamed of for your child.

Getting to know us

We grew up in New York and are both the youngest of two children. MATT’S STORY BEGAN THROUGH ADOPTION, AS DID HIS BROTHERS. FAMILY IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO US. We value the time we spend with Matt’s family on their annual beach vacation, as well as trips to the west coast to see Stephanie’s brother’s family.

We have been together for almost 20 years. We started dating at the end of high school. We received undergraduate and graduate degrees and were married in 2007. We purchased a house shortly thereafter.

The journey to parenthood has been difficult. Unsuccessfully, we tried for years to have a child. Adoption was always part of our plan, but we thought that would come a bit later. As the old saying goes “you plan and God laughs”. Everything happens for a reason and we believe that this was supposed to be our journey all along. We feel strongly about adoption as adoption gave Matt a beautiful life.

We can provide a nurturing home for a child to grow, learn and develop. YOUR CHILD WILL KNOW HOW MUCH WE PRAYED FOR THEM AND HOW MUCH WE LOVED THEM BEFORE THEY EVEN WERE BORN. YOUR BABY WILL KNOW WHAT A GIFT YOU WERE TO THEM, US AND OUR FAMILY. We will forever be indebted to you for your decision to choose us as their parents.

Meet Matt

Matt is an incredible husband, son, uncle and friend. Though he can appear quiet and reserved at first, once he gets to know you, his warm and inviting personality is evident. He is easy going, which makes people feel comfortable with him right away, especially with children.

HE IS DEDICATED TO HIS FAMILY. He puts family first and goes out of his way to make sure we are taken care of. As an uncle he readily plays with his nieces and nephews and is often the “chosen one” to hold them.

Matt is hard working. He will go the extra mile to complete his commitments. Whether it’s mentoring a new engineer, helping a friend fix his car, installing a new appliance for a family member, or helping a neighbor with a project, Matt is always willing to help those around him.

Love what you do, do what you love

Matt is a mechanical engineer, with a focus on research and development. He enjoys being able to challenge himself mentally through product development, while still getting his hands dirty running product tests and inspecting components.

Words that describe Matt:

Meet Stephanie

STEPHANIE’S BRIGHT, OUTGOING PERSONALITY WAS WHAT FIRST DREW ME TO HER 20 YEARS AGO and is evident in all facets of her life, from her colorful and inviting classroom, to her interactions with kids and friends alike. This also makes others feel comfortable having her as a confidant.

Her giving nature shines through in responding to others needs. She puts others needs in front of her own and is always willing to lend a helping hand to our friends and family.

She is extremely hard working, in the classroom and our home. She loves teaching and it shows. She views her students as an extension of her family. She shows she cares about them when she teaches them the life lessons that I know she has always wanted to teach her own children. In our home, Stephanie works very hard to keep things neat and organized. She takes pride in having our home be a reflection of the life we have worked so hard to build. She is so excited to add a child to our family.

Love what you do, do what you love

Stephanie is an elementary school teacher that loves creating a classroom community where students are respected, celebrated and accepted. She is passionate about students working hard, and having fun while doing it.

Words that describe Stephanie:

Our Home

We live in a quiet New York suburb with great schools. our home is a short walk from a playground and the library. there are many families with young children in our neighborhood.

Our home is the gathering place. Being together, celebrating holidays, making memories and carrying on family traditions are important to us. We look forward to making new traditions, like apple picking, pumpkin carving, baking Christmas cookies and celebrating birthdays.

We have a big fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run. On summer nights, we sit and relax around our fire pit.

Our Pups

Darla is our ten year old lab mix. She is as sweet as they come. We joke that if anyone tries to come into our house she would lick them to death! Her favorite things are treats, balls and ice cubes.

Cole is an eight year old beagle/lab mix. Cole is the “million dollar dog” because he needed BOTH of his ACLs repaired. He is gentle and loves every baby he has ever seen. His favorite things are bones, babies and squeaky toys.

The People we love

We HAVE WONDERFUL PARENTS WHO LIVE CLOSE BY. They are so excited to be able to visit frequently and spoil a grandchild. Stephanie’s parents live minutes from the school where she teaches. This will be great, as Stephanie’s Mom is a retired pediatric nurse and will be helping us with childcare!

We spend as much time as possible with both of our families, and actually celebrate holidays together with both families, as one big family. It is such a blessing.

We look forward to bringing a child on annual trips with Matt’s parents to the beach, and to Stephanie’s family on the west coast. Our nieces and nephews are so excited for a cousin to play with!

When we are not with our families, we like to spend quality time with our friends and their children. WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE AMAZING FRIENDSHIPS, MANY OF WHICH ARE FROM AS FAR BACK AS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. We are “Aunt Stephie and Uncle Matt” to many. It is such an honor and joy to watch our “nieces and nephews” grow and flourish from the babies we rocked to the little people they are today. We regularly attend their sports games and special events. It makes us even more excited for the milestones to come after we are blessed through adoption.
