Dear Birth Parents: We are Ed, Jen, Bridget and Maria from New York! First of all, let us just say that we completely admire you and your decision in choosing adoption for your child. This is our second time going through the adoption process. We adopted our dear, little Maria two and half years ago and it was the most amazing experience. We knew we wanted to adopt, but we didn’t realize how much we would love adoption.

We can definitely say from experience that our love for our biological daughter and our adopted daughter is no different and we know that we will love your child just as much. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering our family to adopt your baby. May God bless you in your decision.

How We Met: We met 11 years ago through a church group. For Ed it was love at first sight. He followed Jen around the whole night like a little puppy dog. We had our first date and it was a disaster as Ed forgot to bring enough money to pay for both dinners! (We laugh about this now.) Thankfully, Jen gave him another chance a month later and from then on we have been inseparable. Jen’s father called us “two peas in a pod”. We have now been married for 10 years!

We struggled to get pregnant for 2 years after we got married. It was really tough to see all of our friends having babies. Then Jen finally got pregnant and we had Bridget. Due to health risks, another pregnancy was not advised for us.  We were fortunate to meet several people who had chosen to expand their families through adoption.  They were such beautiful stories and we knew adoption was the right path for us!

Life Today: Life today can be described in one word, “Blessed!”  We are thankful everyday that we have two wonderful girls, who love playing with each other.  Our days are filled with laughter and we can’t wait to have another baby in the house!

About Jen, by Ed: Jen loves being a stay-at-home mom, and is generally the sillier one when she’s playing with our girls. There’s a lot more splashing when she handles the girls’ bath time – and when she does the dishes.

Jen has been learning more about early childhood development and how best to meet the needs of children at different ages, and I love watching how she can defuse a toddler tantrum.

Jen has always loved baking (there are almost always homemade chocolate chip cookies in the house), and got into cake decorating five years ago when we discovered Bridget’s peanut allergy. Now she often makes better cakes than we could get at the grocery store!

I love how Jen reads to the kids. She’s read books like Winnie the Pooh, Charlotte’s Web and the Magic Tree House series.

5 Things That Make Jen Happy:

  • Snuggling with my kids
  • Baking
  • Watching movies
  • Family vacations
  • Acting silly with my kids and tickling

About Ed, by Jen: Ed is a devoted husband and a wonderful father!  He is extremely loving and gives the best bear hugs!  He is always concerned with how he can help me around the house.  I love seeing him playing with the girls, whether it’s tea parties with Bridget or reading books to Maria.

He is also a very good provider for our family, as he is a computer programmer.  I know he can’t wait to show Bridget how to do some programming!  He has already found some fun learning tools and games for her.

Some of his hobbies are programming, playing board games, and reading!  He also has tremendous faith in God.  (This is actually what I think is the most attractive thing about him.) He also finds time to help out with our local Catholic Men’s Conference.

5 Things That Make Ed Happy:

  • Relaxing at home with my family
  • Playing computer games
  • Reading a fun fantasy or sci-fi novel
  • Solving computer programming problems at work
  • Having friends over for dinner

Our Home and Community: We love living in New York state! We live in New York State, where we highly enjoy the four seasons! We also live close to a Zoo that we love to visit. Our house is in a quiet suburban neighborhood with trees that line the streets. It also has a lot of young families with children. Ed’s parents live 2 miles down the road. It’s wonderful that we get to see them so often.

Our Furry Friends: We have 3 cats! They are all very friendly and great with our kids! Pippin is 9 years old and loves to just lay around the house and get pets.

Leo and Luna were both rescued from our local animal shelter and they are brother and sister. They are only a year old. Leo loves to snuggle with Jen and Luna loves licking and purring with her stuffed penguin.

Meet Our Children: Bridget is 7½ years old and loves being a big sister! She is a sweet, kind-hearted girl and loves teaching about friendship, which she learned about on My Little Pony. She also loves to play baby doll with her little sister, Maria. Bridget attends art and gymnastics classes every week and has also taken piano lessons.

Maria is a fun, spunky 2 ½ year old! She loves jumping on her small trampoline, doing the splits all over the house, listening to music, and reading. Maria also attends a weekly gymnastics class. She loves to play baby doll and we know she will be so excited about having a new baby in the house.

Why Our Faith Matters: Our faith is what brought us together. We never would have met if it weren’t for our faith. Our faith has brought us through some tough times and it’s what keeps us together. We love sharing our faith with our girls and continuing to grow in our faith as adults as well, through various groups and studies. Bridget absolutely loves God! Jen also teaches 6-9 year olds at our parish. At the end of the day, our main goal is to get each other to Heaven, especially our children!

Things We Love To Do:

  • Playing at the park.
  • Swimming
  • Going to the Zoo.
  • Going to the children’s museum.
  • Vacations to Great Wolf Lodge, the indoor water park.
  • Vacations to Disney World!
  • Jen loves baking and cake decorating!
  • We love to watch cooking shows and Shark Week!

Love Makes A Family: Jen comes from a large family and Ed is an only child. While Jen’s brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews are spread out around the world, Ed’s parents live only 2 miles away! We love getting together with them for holidays and special occasions as well as just regular pop-over visits.

They say it takes a village to raise a family and we definitely have a wonderful village of friends. Our dear friend Noreen is actually known as “Aunt Reenie” to our girls. She is a wonderful, fun loving person who considers us her family as well.

Our girls’ godparents are also part of our village. Bridget’s godfather is a priest and an only child so his Mom adopted our girls as her “grandkids”. She is known in our house as Nana, and she visits several times a year. Maria’s godparents are also adoptive parents and helped us a lot in our adoption journey.

We also have a lot of families that we are very close with and our children are all the best of friends. We really feel blessed to have such a wonderful support network.

A Special Message To You: Thank you so much for looking through our profile.  We feel honored to be considered as the adoptive family for your baby. It would be our pleasure to provide you with updates and pictures of your child. We promise you that your child will grow up in a house full of love and laughter.  We know what it takes to go through the adoption process and to walk with a child who has been adopted and we are excited to adopt your baby and share that same experience with them.  We are so excited to meet you and can’t wait to hear what your final decision is.  Please know that you are in our prayers.

God Bless, Ed, Jen, Bridget and Maria
