Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile and for considering me as a parent to your child. I am Danielle from New York.

LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, I ENTHUSIASTICALLY LOOK FORWARD TO THE USUAL FAMILY RITUALS. I look forward to bedtime stories when they are young and reading books like Harry Potter out loud to each other as they get older. I look forward to teaching them to tie their shoes and one day helping them with algebra or science. I look forward to watching them grow up on the lake- jumping off the dock, making up their own games with friends, and eating homemade ice cream surrounded by people who love them, just as I did.

More than that, I’m excited to rediscover the world through their eyes, as they explore how they want to celebrate their heritage, participate in school activities, engage in the local community, or experience new cultures and ideas as they travel the world.

I grew up in a small town in New York, where we spent summers outdoors on the lake, swimming, playing horseshoes, and making homemade peaches and cream ice cream on the porch.

Since then, I have lived all over the United States for graduate school, training and work.  Because of that, I have a wide variety of kind, generous, and successful friends that live all over the country. It makes travel to these locations so much more fun!

I have my MD as well as an MBA, and I work as a physician. I moved back home a couple of years ago to start a job that has both financial stability and a more flexible part-time schedule. It has also allowed me to begin to pursue volunteer opportunities in my field, hone my cooking skills, and spend more time with my family. Now that I am home and settling in, I’m more ready than ever to start a family.

“Danielle is a hard-working doctor who understands how to keep balance in her life. She is highly intelligent and most things at work come very easily to her. She loves what she does and more than anyone else in our practice, she treats her patients with humanity and patience. She won’t go home until she knows she’s done the right thing for each of them. Those motherly qualities apply to her friends as well, as she is one of the most dependable and loyal friends I have ever had. Danielle is one of those rare people who stands up for those she loves and understands how to be there for someone. She is a good person deep to her core. “ -Stef

First and foremost, Danielle is incredible with children! She is grounded and understanding. She is really “present” with her loved ones and there to lend a helping hand. Danielle understands how to love fully and unconditionally. She will certainly raise a happy, healthy, adjusted, compassionate and secure child. Danielle will provide an environment in which a child can not only thrive but one in which her child will feel valued and value others.

Danielle will make an amazing parent—the kind of parent I wish for every child.

I know Danielle will be great with children since I have watched her interacting with my own. Danielle will get down on the floor and have a genuinely good time with my kids!  She is playful and tender with them and instinctually knows how to connect with them. My toddler loves her! I would not hesitate to ask Danielle to care for my own children long term.

I met Danielle on the first day of medical school. I was instantly drawn to her positivity and sense of compassion. Even then, she talked about adopting one day. She loves children and I have seen how children are drawn to her. I would entrust her with my own son.

I have the best of both worlds. I have all the fun things to do in the city like museums, festivals, and cheering for local sports teams and I also have the lake with boating, hiking, and skiing. I currently have an apartment just outside the city where I work but I’m in the process of looking for a house to buy since we have some of the best school districts in the state.

Not far away, I am fixing up a small summer house on the lake where I grew up. My parents and I have had loads of fun working on all kinds of projects together there. In fact, they are my next-door neighbors at the lake. They are retired and live there year-round. The first thing my dad did when I bought it was to build a walkway between the two houses. 🙂

I’m a big believer in the saying that “who you are with is far more important than what you are doing.”

I’m as happy at home as I am traveling the world as long as I am in good company. I like to go to yoga, relax on the lake, read, learn new recipes, and watch movies and snuggle with Ziva. I also like to go hiking and skiing, host bbq’s, and spend as much time as possible with friends and family.

Laughter is the best medicine

I am fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful community of people- the family I was born with and the “family that I have chosen.” My immediate family is small, but my extended family is large. I have 19 first cousins. I have a wide variety of friends that live all over the United States. Since I moved home, I spend a lot of my free time hanging out with my parents and an amazing group of friends that I have known since childhood. My parents and my friends get along great too and so we all have quite a few laughs together as well.

You will always be a part of your child’s story to whatever extent you desire. They will know their heritage and the language, foods, heroes and traditions that honor it. I would be more than happy to share their life and milestones with you through letters, photos and videos if you would like to receive them.

I hope this has given you a snapshot of the home that your child will have with me. Obviously, I cannot promise a perfect life because life is just not perfect. At times, it is not even fair. But know that your child will be nurtured, loved, supported, and taught values and self-esteem. They will be protected and feel safe and when they do fail (as we all do), they will be taught how to pick themselves back up. They will learn that sometimes it is failure that will lead them to their greatest achievements. Above all, they will know that they are loved through it all. This child will be welcomed and loved by so many. My village is large. Thank you so much for considering me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
