FROM TEXAS

First and foremost, we admire your courage and selflessness. Making an adoption plan takes incredible strength and love, and we want to assure you that we are ready to provide a safe, stable, and loving home for your child. We are coming to adoption not because of infertility or other life reasons, but because we deeply and truly want to be a family formed by adoption, with everything that comes along with that. Having said this, and with open hearts and deep respect for your journey, we invite you to learn more about our family.

Brittany is a professor at a private university. Her work focuses on trauma, helping survivors of abuse and violence find healing. She is trained in mind-body medicine and self-defense and uses this work with survivors of all ages. Brittany started out her career working in transcultural adoption in New York City before moving to Texas. She grew up in a military family and is very close with her parents and brother (who will be a wonderful male role model for this child!). Despite the seriousness of her work, Brittany is a child at heart. She loves making up songs, talking in silly voices, arcade claw machines, and everything Disney. Brittany is unapologetically authentic, loyal, and a fierce advocate for justice.

FAV HOLIDAY

Constance works with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services as an Adult Protective Investigator. Previously she worked with children and families in Texas and Florida. This work compliments her compassionate and understanding nature and she is grateful to be able to work in the community serving vulnerable populations. Constance grew up in a rural community in North Dakota where her parents still reside. She enjoys playing and watching sports, going out for boba tea, catching movies at the theatre and spending time goofing around with Brittany and their pups. What sets Constance apart from others is her ability to connect with and desire to truly understand just about anyone.

OUR PETS

MEET OUR DOGS

We have two very spoiled small dogs. Ellie is a 2-year-old long-haired dachshund and Jolie is a 7-year-old papillon. They are both excellent with children and are well accustomed to outings, where they often ride in style in their stroller. We are members of the San Antonio Lowriders dachshunds club and Ellie participates in wiener dog races, where her sister cheers her on from the sidelines. Jolie prefers a more pampered, low-key lifestyle than our sporty speedster, but both girls are endless entertainment and love.

OUR HOME & COMMUNITY

We live in a remodeled 100-year-old 3-bedroom home just north of downtown. Our house has all the charm of a historical home, but with modern conveniences. Our property includes fenced in front and back yards, with a covered patio, peach tree and garden in back. There is a beautiful lake and park just 2 miles away. The San Antonio Zoo, DoSeum (an interactive children’s museum), and Brittany’s university are less than 5 miles away, allowing us to participate in all kinds of events offered on campus and throughout San Antonio’s westside. Our “home” also extends to our family, and we love to travel, hanging out in the family cabin in the Rocky Mountains or visiting Brittany’s brother and his young family on the beaches of San Diego.

THANK YOU

FOR CONSIDERING US

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little better. We’ve both spent years helping families navigate challenging situations, which has taught us the importance of patience, empathy, and clear communication. Brittany finds so much joy in teaching emotional regulation, and Constance is enlivened by advocating for others. This compassion and understanding extends to our relationship; we are adventurous, playful, and deeply in love. We’re active and responsible global citizens, and these experiences have given us the tools to create a home where your child will feel safe, loved, and empowered to reach their full potential. We can offer your child a life filled with laughter, wonder, and unconditional love. We envision a home where curiosity is encouraged, dreams are supported, and every milestone is celebrated. More than anything, we want to help your child discover their passions and grow into a kind, confident person. And we want you to be there too, to whatever extent is comfortable and healthy for both you and your child. We believe that honesty and openness is the best option, and we look forward to sharing photos and letters regularly and arranging visits or Zoom calls. You will always be your child’s first mom, and we would be honored to welcome you into our extended family. As a family formed by adoption, we eagerly look forward to leaning into the strength of our diversity and celebrating the uniqueness of our wonderful little family. We wish you well on your adoption journey, as we continue ours.
