Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn about us! We are Jen, Andy, and Cadence from Rhode Island. We met 11 years ago on match.com. Jen chose Andy since he was one of the few guys taller than she was! Turns out he had some other nice qualities, too. At the time, we were both living in Indiana and were excited to find in each other a shared love of the outdoors, travel, food, and humor. Together, we both love animals and have had multiple rescued pets bring joy and variety to our lives.

About Andy by Jen:

My favorite thing about Andy is his constant “we can do this” attitude. He is a very positive person and does not put out negative vibes. His positivity is in all aspects of his life. When I struggled with the process of not being able to have a child he would simply say “everyone has their own journey, and this is ours.” So far, he has been right, Cadence has added a lot of joy. His positivity is only less endearing on rare occasions like when hiking and everyone else is sick from altitude, and he is happily singing aloud. His positivity helps me believe that we will find another child to love and for whom to care. Andy is great with kids as his goof ball side comes out. Having grown up in a big family he is used to having kids around and is great at talking with them on their level.

About Jen by Andy:

Jen is a kind, compassionate, and warm person, if shy and humble, traits that serve her well in life. She appreciates others more than herself, and I’m sure she will appreciate no one more than a child. She is an excellent parent to our pets and sets the rules that I never can. I have a hard time resisting their cuteness! She makes the house lovely for all of us as a family and is always enthusiastic about planning activities for us to do together. She is excited about helping our children learn and grow, getting one involved in activities and hobbies. Jen is resilient, passionate, strong, and beautiful. I admire her more than anyone else, and I continue to love her more each day.

We were very fortunate to adopt our daughter Cadence in 2022 and are hoping to adopt a sibling, playmate, and best friend for her. Cadence has brought so much joy into our lives. She is a very happy baby. She loves running around and playing with the pets and being tossed into the air by Dada. She has gone on many adventures with us and has already visited 10 states and one foreign country. She likes trying Dada’s cooking and accompanying Mama for runs and hikes. We enjoy watching her grow and learn. We are so thankful to have both Cadence and her birth mom in our lives.

OUR PETS

MEET OUR PETS

We have two dogs, Lulu and Charlie, who love to play together and go for hikes, and a box turtle named Hubert. We hope to add a kitten to the household shortly. Bringing pets into our lives has helped us grow as a couple and helped us learn to co-parent. We take the dogs everywhere that we can. They are a constant source of entertainment in our house, and we feel lucky to take care of them.

OUR HOME & COMMUNITY

We moved to Rhode Island seven years ago and love it. We enjoy living in a suburban area and knowing our neighbors. We are 15 minutes away from downtown, and 15 minutes away from forests for hiking and outdoor recreation. We frequently walk the dogs to town and get ice cream. Rhode Island has surprised us with how much we like it because it has so many things to do within such a small state. Over the years, we have put a lot of effort into making our house a home. Jen enjoys renovating, and she tiled, painted, and partially gutted and rebuilt our kitchen, sun room, and bathroom. We maintain an overgrown but happy garden with flowers, fruit trees, and berry bushes including peaches, apples, raspberries, pumpkins, and many more. Children in the neighborhood come to pick peaches and apples from the trees. We live within walking distance of an excellent grade school, and within two miles of an excellent high school.

Visiting a pumpkin patch
We want to raise your child with love and affection to help them grow. We will provide a loving and supportive home for your child. We are financially stable, have good health coverage, and own our own house. The house has a lovely backyard with a brand-new fenced yard for play. In the house, we have multiple play areas to keep the kids and dogs happy and safe. We also have a park with a playground at the end of our street. We live in a safe neighborhood that is walking distance from the elementary school (which has another playground!). Our area, and Rhode Island as a whole, has a strong sense of community. There are regular events and parades celebrating the history of the area. We hope to raise your child to be active, thoughtful, and kind. We would love to keep you updated on their progress throughout life. As adoptive parents, we do not want to replace you as the birth parent. We recognize that you have a difficult decision to make regarding the life of your child. We want to ease your mind. We would love to have an open adoption and keep you informed about your child’s development. We currently enjoy communicating with Cadence’s birth mom. We send her tons of pictures and are always thankful for the wonderful gift she has given us. She made us a family. Above all, we will raise your child with love. Thank you for your consideration.
