Whether you’re just exploring adoption or the process is all said and done, everyone needs a place they can go to gain insightful information, build community, laugh and cry, and ask important questions. Thankfully, with the explosion of personal blogs we’re able to find support and compassion in endless ways. Blogs are also a great place to gain valuable knowledge from people who have personal experiences to share, and lessons to impart.
We’ve compiled a few of our favorite adoption blogs from the blogosphere. They were selected because of how relatable their stories are to the adoption community, and really, parents everywhere.
1. Rage Against the Minivan
While the blog title is reason enough to check out this blog, what makes readers come back for more is Kristen’s witty commentary and authentic storytelling. Kristen is a mom of four kids, both adopted and biological. Her blog is a great resource for real talk.
2. Ripped Jeans & Bifocals

3. White Sugar Brown Sugar

Her bubbly personality and upbeat perspective on life and adoption makes her blog an encouraging and insightful read. She has also written five books aimed at adoptive parents, homeschooling, and young African American girls.
4. Shelley Writes
Shelley is an award-winning TV journalist who as she puts it, “traded in suit coats and red lipstick for a messy bun and yoga pants.” She battled infertility and won, adopting two girls, and eventually giving birth to two more. You can spot her byline on sites like The Huffington Post, TODAY Parents, Adoption.com, and many more.
