When we met 6 years ago, we instantly talked about our dream of being parents together. We tried to conceive a child for the past four years. It has been a rollercoaster experience between surgeries, medications and many failed infertility treatments. While on this difficult ride, we often spoke about adoption and wondered if that is the way we were meant to become parents. We have now made the best decision to adopt a child, grow our family and fulfill our lifelong dream of becoming parents together. We know we can provide your child with a happy, safe and loving home from which they can grow into a healthy and successful adult.
We met in September of 2010 at Starbucks both waiting for our pumpkin spiced lattes. What a coincidence! Our conversation led to an immediate interest and spark. We have been inseparable since. As our relationship grew, we realized we both shared similar values, morals, goals and desires for our lives and future. Our marriage is based on love, trust, loyalty, respect, commitment and communication. We are best friends and make it a priority to laugh with each other every day.
Celesta – I was born and raised in New York, the younger of two children. My childhood was centered around education, family and traditions. I grew up in a wonderful diverse neighborhood that was filled with many children. I love children, cooking new recipes, watching the Food Network, reading books, eating Mexican food, any activity in the autumn season, drinking coffee with girlfriends, knitting and walking by the ocean.
I am very close to my parents, my brother and his wife and my two nephews. We see each other every Sunday for our big Italian lunch. We enjoy talking to each other, reminiscing about our childhood and making new memories.
I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters of Science in Special Education. I have been in the Special Education field for the last 20 years at the same school. I was a teacher for 10 years and I’m currently an educational evaluator/curriculum coordinator. I am also attending an on-line school program to become a school principal. I have a strong work ethic and my career has allowed me to be a positive influence in many children’s lives and make a difference in their future. I am their mentor and confidant who encourages and helps them reach their fullest potential. Working with my students who have special needs has given me a deep sense of fulfillment. I cannot wait to become a mother to provide love, patience, guidance and create happy memories each and every day!
Paul – I was born and raised in New York in the same town in which we currently live. I am the middle of three children and during my childhood I was always surrounded by family who lived within a two-mile radius. Family is an important part of our lives. I speak to my parents and brother daily and skype with my sister who lives in Italy every Sunday. I have a son, Stefano, who is from my previous marriage. We have him with us every other weekend, holiday vacations and during the summer months. He has playdates with his younger cousins who are 5 and 3 years old to the park, zoo, beach or aquarium. I have always been an outdoors fan. I love to spend time with Stefano on his trampoline, bike ride, fish, hike, antiquing, and go for long walks especially by the ocean, working on house or yard projects and going to the beach. Baking is a passion and especially designing and decorating gingerbread houses. We then donate them to the less fortunate for the Christmas holiday. I earned a Bachelors of Architecture and a Masters of Architecture. I have been an architect since 1992. I work in city planning, designing and overseeing the construction and restoration of buildings. My biggest joy is being Stefano’s father. I am so blessed to have him in my life and provide him with a lifetime of love and guidance. I would love to provide this for your child as well.
Paul’s son, Stefano is 8 years old. He has special needs and has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Stefano is a joy to be with, always happy and has tons of energy. Stefano loves to go to school and the park, bounce on his trampoline, look at books, dance to songs, bake cookies and make pizza with Daddy and CC (Celesta). Celesta enjoys playing with Stefano, making him laugh, providing the necessary structure he needs because of his disabilities and giving him hugs and kisses. Stefano has taught me that life is not perfect, we should be grateful for what we have, to be patient, that understanding has no limit and everyone is special in their own way. We love him dearly.
Our Home – We live in a ranch style home that has a nursery waiting for your child and a big deck overlooking a large backyard with many fun outdoor play activities. Stefano can’t wait to share his slide, trampoline, bubbles, tricycle, wagon and sled with his brother or sister. We love our comfortable home and especially the ethnically diverse neighborhood that we live in. It is a safe environment where all the neighborhood children go to play. The laugher and giggles from the neighborhood children just bring a smile to everyone’s faces. We are walking distance to the elementary school, church, library and two parks. We enjoy house projects, interior decorating and planting flowers and vegetables; especially pumpkins for Halloween.
We love to celebrate the holidays and cannot wait to share our family traditions with your child. We can’t wait to carve a pumpkin for Halloween with your child, make an art and craft centerpiece for the Thanksgiving Day table, decorate the Christmas tree, try to find where the elf on the shelf is hiding, decorate Easter eggs and enjoy the fireworks for the 4th of July. All birthdays are a big celebration with the extended families celebrating everyone’s life, health and accomplishments for the year.
Our Interests & Hobbies – We enjoy travelling and like to take long weekend trips; especially in the autumn to see the foliage and in the summer to the beach. Paul spent his summers on the New Jersey shore where his parents still spend their summers at their vacation home. I spent my summers in Italy visiting my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. My parents spend many weeks throughout the year in Italy visiting family. I try to visit every 2 years and keep in contact with my relatives through weekly skype chats. We long for the day when we can share our love of traveling with your child and see that twinkle and excitement in their eyes.
Parenting is one of the most joyful and fulfilling parts of life. We are truly looking forward to nurturing, loving and protecting your child together as parents. Providing unconditional love and support is important to us. We will always be active listeners and use positive reinforcement to encourage growth and guide them to make the right decisions in life. Education will be a priority. We will be there to provide encouragement and be your child’s biggest cheerleaders!
We are both Roman Catholic and attend mass weekly. We believe that all religions and faiths have a common goal which is to make the world a better place. We live our lives by the values and morals we were raised with; including honesty, kindness, being charitable and always trying to make the right decision by following your heart.
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and getting to know a little more about us. We hope we have given you a quick glimpse into our lives and all that we look forward to offering your child.
We want you to know that we believe your decision is a loving one and that will always be conveyed to your child. We will always have respect and gratitude for you and we will always speak of you to your child with respect and admiration. If it is your desire to receive them, we are happy to share letters and pictures of your child throughout the years. We would be forever grateful if you decide that we are the right family for your child. You would make our dream of becoming parents and having a family together come true.
