Matt and Jennie

Hi! We are Matt and Jennie. Thank you for looking at our profile. We realize that making an adoption plan for your child is a very important decision and we admire the thoughtfulness that you are putting into making that decision. We live in upstate New York and this will be our second adoption. After struggling with infertility, we joyously adopted our daughter Isabel at birth in 2014. Adopting Isabel has been the most magical event in our lives. We are forever grateful to her birth mother for choosing us as Isabel’s adoptive parents. We would like to adopt another child so that Isabel grows up with a sibling and so that we can watch another child grow and develop. You can reach us toll free by calling 1-800-626-4324.

About Us….
We have been married for nine years and feel very blessed to have one another. We share common values and beliefs, including our faith in God, our compassion for others, and our love of our extended family. We enjoy traveling, hiking, exercising, and watching movies and shows together. Our parents, siblings, nieces and nephews live in close proximity to us and we see them on a regular basis. Many of our family vacations are spent with them. Our entire family adores Isabel and is thrilled about our plans to adopt again!

Jennie is a stay-at-home mom to Isabel. She has a M.S. degree in Education and previously worked as a special education teacher for 14 years in the public school system. Her days spent with Isabel include visiting the farm and zoo, playgrounds, the local children’s museum, music classes and the library. Jennie and Isabel also attend play dates with other mothers and their children. When they are at home, they enjoy reading books and playing outside. Jennie enjoys reading, cooking, exercising, watching movies, shopping, visiting restaurants and going to theatrical productions. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with Isabel and Matt!

Matt has a B.S. degree in Math and is a sales manager for a local payroll company. He works close enough to home that he comes home to have lunch with Jennie and Isabel a few times each week. Matt works a standard 8-5 work schedule so he has evening and weekends to spend with the family. Matt’s interests include history, reading, watching movies, playing guitar, and playing recreational basketball. Most of all, he adores his daughter and enjoys playing with her!

Isabel is an active toddler. She is extremely friendly and curious. She loves to swing, play outside, play in water, read books (especially about elephants right now), dig in the dirt, watch “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” and she loves to sing! She will make a wonderful big sister!

We are raising Isabel in the Catholic faith and attend a church where Isabel is exposed to people of many races. We embrace Isabel’s Mexican heritage and expose her to cultural opportunities that will instill in her a positive self-image.

Our Home
We live in a medium-sized city in the State of New York. The area is rich with recreational activities (sports, nature parks), arts opportunities (dance, museums) and educational institutions. We are close to medical, social and education services. Our neighborhood is very close-knit, safe and has many families with young children. Our home has 4 bedrooms and a large yard to play in.

Parenting Philosophy
We believe in providing our children with a loving and safe environment in which our children can explore and learn. We believe the parents are the child’s first teachers. We appreciate individuality and believe that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and talents. We model appropriate behavior, provide positive reinforcement, and establish clear rules and boundaries. When discipline is needed, we use time-outs, redirection, and “Magic 1-2-3.”

Education is important to us and we will support our children’s educational plans. We will instill the following values in our children: faith in God, believing in yourself, service to others, treating others as you wish to be treated, and “doing the right thing.”

Thank you!
Thank you for considering us as you make a decision about an adoptive family for your child. We welcome an open adoption and want you to be a part of our lives in a way that you are comfortable with. We plan to share photos of your child and write letters about your child’s progress after placement if you wish to receive them. We pray that God gives you peace throughout this process.

Warm regards,

Matt & Jennie… and hopeful sister, Isabel!
