Dear Birth Parents, Thank you for reading our letter and considering us as the potential parents for your baby. We hope our profile will give you a good view our life here in New York. We are so grateful to you for choosing adoption. We understand the choice is a difficult one to make and admire your strength and courage to choose adoption. We had struggled with infertility for over ten years, and after many unsuccessful attempts to have a child on our own , we decided that adoption was the answer to our prayers to start a family. This will be our second adoption and we couldn’t be more excited. We adopted a baby boy in 2014. The entire experience was amazing. We created a bond and lasting memories with our son’s birth family that we will cherish forever. Both sides of our family have been such a support system for us over the years. We have a very close knit family and spend so much time together. Our son has been embraced by our large extended family, including Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. We look back on our journey and think how lucky we are to have been blessed with this child. We are ready to grow our family and add to our happiness.
Charles and I first met at the age of 13. We went to the same high school but were a year apart so we didn’t have any classes together. It wasn’t until years later, in 1994, that our paths crossed again. We dated exclusive for five years and on a trip to Disney he proposed in front of 2000 people at the Indiana Jones stunt show in MGM studios. He arranged to play one of the stunt men in the show and then called me up on stage to propose.
We had a 2 year engagement while we saved money for our first home and planned a big wedding. We moved into our house on July 4th weekend of 2001, and our Wedding was Labor Day weekend of 2001. We got married at a beautiful country club with all of our family and friends.
We will celebrate our 15th Wedding anniversary this Labor Day.
Every day we anticipate what our day to day life as a family will be like. We have so much we want to share with another child. We will encourage our children to be creative and follow their own interests; whether it is sports, music, dance or the arts. We will guide our children to make educated, safe choices in life.
We hope to emphasize the values of respecting others, appreciating differences, acknowledging others strengths & being kind to others. We look forward to spending time as a family. Both Charles and I are very close with our siblings and we would love for our son to experience the same kind of relationship with a brother or sister of his own.
Toni Ann works for a company which she has been with for many years. This will give her flexibility to take time off when the baby arrives. When she or Charles are not home one of their mothers or Toni Ann’s sister will be there for childcare. Toni Ann enjoys baking, cake decorating, interior design and reading a good book. She looks forward to making fancy birthday cakes for your child!
Charles works for the family business which we began and own. He works from home which will enable him to be a very hands-on dad. He enjoys golfing and fishing and is also a big baseball and NASCAR fan. We both like the New York Yankees, but don’t hold that against us.
We want you to know that we look forward to giving love, opportunities, adventures and support to the child we are lucky enough to adopt. We want you to know that we admire you for choosing an adoption plan for your baby. It takes a lot of trust and faith to let others care for a child you’ve brought into this world. It’s a difficult and personal decision; we can only imagine how you feel. We will make every effort to live up to your trust and be worthy of it.
Please know that we are comfortable sharing photos and updates with you as your child grows (if you desire this). Thank you again for considering us. We look forward to speaking with you if you would like to get to know us better. Take care!
With great respect,
Toni Ann & Charles
